Dysfunctional Ways to Measure Productivity

We tend to think that if we have people sitting in front of their computers in an office, we’re being productive.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. Employees can just as easily be scrolling Facebook.

The only real measurement of productivity is whether or not you are accomplishing your objective.

Here’s a better process for measuring productivity:

  1. Create clear objectives of what your business wants to accomplish
  2. Communicate these objectives to your team members, managers, and upper leadership
  3. Track your team’s progress in accomplishing these objectives

Following these principles, ultimately you may find your company may be more productive distributed than in-person.

Remember, the ultimate goal isn’t butts in seats. It’s accomplishing your objective.

Build your business around this principle and watch it grow.
