It’s easy to develop connection in an onsite company; you can do a pizza party or go to the Escape Room. But how do you develop a personal bond when your team is distributed?
It’s possible, but you have to be intentional about it. Here are two ideas:
1. Create room for non-work-related conversations.
Use your team communication tool, such as Slack, to create a virtual water cooler. Use it as a place where people can share about their gardens, woodworking, pets, or anything else they feel like sharing.
2. Virtual coffee hours or all-work sessions.
Create a culture where you’re able to hop on a Zoom call with no agenda other than to talk and bond.
No matter the method, be intentional about creating ways for your team members to connect. This makes for happier employees and better work.
